CREA School Counseling Program

The vision of the CREA School Counseling program in partnership with schools is to empower all students to be successful in an ever changing world.

Our Approach

The school counseling program is led by licensed educators whose mission is to empower all students to reach their fullest potential by providing a comprehensive school counseling program guided by the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Model. ASCA provides a framework with mindsets, behaviors and skills where the focus is on school achievement.

The CREA school counseling program covers the college, career, and life readiness skills that all students need in preparation for this ever-changing world.

VISION, MISSION possibly here

"It is remarkable to have an RN at your fingertips, for staff and students we can check fevers, sore throats and ears, with all the attachments a nurse can check the patient over and because she has access to our parent information she contacts them. It takes the office out of the equation and provides parents with an exact plan and sends them to their next step."

School Crisis Counseling Support

The K-12 comprehensive school counseling program supports students' academic, career and essential skills, through their elementary, middle and high school years. School counselors conduct classroom lessons, provide individual and group counseling, assist with college and career planning, communicate with teachers, parents and administrators, and overall implement programming that promotes a positive school environment.

The journey of ensuring students graduate Choice Ready is a collective effort between CREA school counselors and the district. They follow the ASCA Mindsets and Behaviors for student success; K12 College and Career Readiness Standards, North Dakota Career and Technical Education Career Outlook resource, RUReadyND, and Choice Ready framework.

Crises in school can be rare and unexpected, they have the potential to undermine the safety and stability of the school and may make it difficult to protect students and staff. CREA can assist with your school's current crisis and intervention plan in the event that additional support is needed from licensed school counselor(s).
