ND Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)

NDMTSS is a framework for North Dakota schools to create a system that supports all students academically, behaviorally, and social-emotionally. NDMTSS focuses on supporting school personnel in providing high-quality instruction and interventions matched to student need, monitoring progress frequently to make decisions about changes in instruction or goals. Data are used to allocate resources to improve student learning and support staff implementation of effective practices.  The NDMTSS framework is supported through a series of professional learning and technical assistance to guide districts in creating, implementing and maintaining a multi-tiered system of supports.

Teams  will move towards becoming a trauma-informed school by analyzing the gap between current state and desired state of the 5

trauma-informed practices.

Teams will cover the critical features to support supplemental interventions (Tier 2) within their Positive behavior intervention and supports system.

Teams  will explore the 5 social emotional competencies, evaluate current SEL instructional practices, and explore the NDMTSS SEL learning goals and scales.
