ND Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
NDMTSS is a framework for North Dakota schools to create a system that supports all students academically, behaviorally, and social-emotionally. NDMTSS focuses on supporting school personnel in providing high-quality instruction and interventions matched to student need, monitoring progress frequently to make decisions about changes in instruction or goals. Data are used to allocate resources to improve student learning and support staff implementation of effective practices. The NDMTSS framework is supported through a series of professional learning and technical assistance to guide districts in creating, implementing and maintaining a multi-tiered system of supports.
NDMTSS is supporting continuous improvement state-wide
NDMTSS recognizes that providing students with the best opportunities to succeed requires a constant focus on improvement. Like any school improvement process, the continuous improvement cycle empowers school systems to effectively plan and implement through 5 essential components.
