What do Reading Corps Members do?
"Reading Corps is a program that focuses on students who are near, but not quite at, grade level reading. We work one-on-one with students for 20 minutes at a time using various interventions, which are proven reading strategies. (Don't worry, we are trained at the beginning of the year, you don't need a background in education.) We typically work with a student for 3-6 weeks, or until they reach their reading goal. We then pick up a new student and put the first student on monitoring, meaning we still see that student once a week for about three weeks to make sure they stay above their goal, after we stop daily reading.
